TICKETS are still available for Hold Back The River, Sunday’s charity concert at the York Barbican in aid of the York Flood Appeal.

Pick Me Up Theatre musical director Adam Tomlinson will open the 7pm show with the cast from last month’s production of Les Miserables, presenting extracts from the Boublil & Schonberg musical.

The first half also will feature York singer and guitarist Dan Webster, the York Civic Youth Choir, Archies Boys Aloud and the ukulele skills of The Grand Old Uke Of York.

Stepping up after the interval will be the Shepherd Group Concert Brass Band, The Steve Cassidy Band, humorous singer Ish Herd and friends, and the chart-topping people’s soprano Rebecca Newman, pictured left.

Sunday’s concert has been organised by York’s ever-industrious man of good causes Graham Bradbury and will be hosted by BBC Radio York presenters Jonathan Cowap and Adam Tomlinson.

Tickets are on sale at £10, concessions and children £8, on 0844 854 2757 or at yorkbarbican.co.uk.
