The driver, who has not been named by the company or by the authorities, was the subject of an internal investigation following the incident, after claims he ignored warnings and road closed signs before entering the floodwater.
A statement from Stephensons of Easingwold said: "The company has now concluded its investigation into the incident of January 5th when a school bus carrying pupils to Easingwold School entered floodwater near Newton-on-Ouse.
"A full report has been provided to the relevant authorities including North Yorkshire County Council and a communication to relevant parents has also been sent via the school secure mailing system.
"The company cannot comment further on any other investigation by other authorities but can confirm that, as a result of this incident, the driver concerned is no longer employed by the company."
As previously reported by The Press, the driver has been interviewed by North Yorkshire Police, and the details surrounding the incident are still being investigated.
