BBC BREAKFAST business reporter Steph McGovern is returning to York to speak at the York and North Yorkshire Chamber Dinner.

The annual event is taking place next month at the National Railway Museum on Thursday, March 10, and is expected attract more than 500 business men and women from across the region.

This year the Chamber, which is part of West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, has secured award-winning BBC Breakfast business reporter Steph McGovern as its guest speaker.

The appearance will mark a return to the city for Miss McGovern, who has been working in financial journalism for more than 10 years and has been part of the BBC Breakfast family for the last two, and visited York in December to report from the St Nicholas Fair Christmas Market.

York & North Yorkshire Chamber president, Ed Everard said: "We’re looking forward to welcoming Steph to the Annual Dinner this year. She has travelled all over the UK interviewing business owners, large and small, so it will be interesting to hear her views on the real economy."

At the dinner, Mr Everard will also update the audience on Chamber achievements over the last 12 months. The dinner will raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice in Scarborough and St Leonard’s Hospice in York through a prize draw.

The dinner is supported by principal sponsor, HSBC Commercial Banking and additional sponsors are Shepherd Group, Saville Audio Visual and Business Enterprise Fund.
