VIKING storytellers are taking up residence at the Yorkshire Museum and York Art Gallery for half term, and will be bringing the spectacular sagas and fantastical fables of the era to life.
Odin the Viking giant will be in the Yorkshire Museum, leading visitors through his quest to become a god, while artist and storyteller, Mary Passeri, will take to the Story Chair to tell magical tales from York Art Gallery’s favourite paintings.
The museums' assistant curator Emma Williams said: “Storytelling is great way to encourage children to use their imaginations and get creative.
“On select days children will discover the stories of the Yorkshire Museum and York Art Gallery’s collections in a way that is engaging, entertaining and fun and throughout half term they can join in with craft activities such as writing their own stories and making puppets.
“With our ‘Kids Go Free’ offer, this February half term is the perfect time to visit.”
