SIX successful All Saints RC sixth form students have secured offers from Oxford or Cambridge universities.

The successful Oxford applicants are Alex Bruce who wants to study politics, philosophy and economics and Joe Tulloch to study history and Italian, while Cambridge made offers to Ross Allen to study human, social and political science, Ferdinand Holley to study law, and Lily Stone and Lizzie Nightingale who both want to study modern and medieval languages. It is the second successive year that the school has had six Oxbridge offers.

The applications were supported by a whole host of staff in the school acting as referees and mentors with specific support provided by Sharon Bilton, the careers co-ordinator.

In total ten students were interviewed and six won offers.

Paul Stavridis, head of the 6th form, said: "I am immensely proud of them all, those receiving offers are very deserving of them and those who were unsuccessful will showcase their tremendous talents at other universities that will be lucky to have them.

"For over half of our applicants to receive an offer underlines the quality of our programme of support."
