A FORMER Miss Teen York has given her support to a city charity shop to mark World Cancer Day.

Madison Clarke picked out and modelled an outfit in the Cancer Research shop in Coney Street to encourage people to consider shopping in charity shops.

She is supporting the charity on World Cancer Day today - which aims to get people talking about different kinds of cancer and to educate as many as possible in what they can do to fight the disease.

Sandra Currie, the shop manager, said: "We're trying to bring it to people's attention they can still get good pre-loved products in the charity shop and they can do it for a fraction of the price."

Thanking Madison for her support, she said,"World Cancer Day is important as it shows people are united in supporting the fight against cancer."
