Emergency services were called at 3.46pm to the incident.

Fire crews are in attendance with a large amount of debris reported to be in the area.

Residents living in the area have been asked to stay indoors as a precaution as it is understood there may be asbestos in the roof of the bungalow.

It is understood that the resident of the house received treatment for shock from ambulance crews on the scene.

Elsewhere, there have been several wind-related road accidents today, say North Yorkshire Police.

This was the scene on the A169 near Goathland, where a lorry blew over.
