The A170 Sutton Bank in North Yorkshire is now open but motorist are advised to drive with care.
Due to heavy snow on the North York Moors, Coastliner have said they are unable to operate to Whitby. The affected services will terminate at Thornton le Dale
Today's forecast is cold, with spells of rain, sleet and snow, the snow mainly but not exclusively on hills. Winds strengthening to give a risk of gales in the east later, perhaps severe near the coast, as western parts become brighter late on.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Please be aware of the risk of disruption to travel, and take appropriate precautions before undertaking journeys.
"It will also be worth keeping fully up to date with the latest forecasts - details of amounts and areas affected may well change.
"This is an update to extend the warning area to include the North York Moors, whilst at the same time trimming the north western limit over Scotland - now covered by a separate ice warning - and to cease the warning by mid afternoon."
