YORK train operator Grand Central has given a boost to the Jack Raine Community Foundation, a York-based charity focused on supporting children, their families and communities.
The charity received a £500 donation from Grand Central as part of the firm’s Grand Gestures scheme, designed to support charities, community groups and regional initiatives across the North East and Yorkshire region.
Established in 1966, the Jack Raine Foundation used to be a community sports club, but now offers positive solutions using sport, theatre, and music as a tool of engagement to make children more aware and safe from dangerous influences and lifestyles.
Sid Sidebottom, director of fundraising at Jack Raine, said: “We are surprised and honoured to have received this generous contribution from Grand Central.”
