A DRIVER who was pulled over by police who were concerned about his tyres had his car seized this weekend.
The motorist was pulled over by North Yorkshire Police close to junction 48 on the A1(M), near Boroughbridge on Saturday evening.
A police spokesman said the uninsured driver, who had a nine-year-old child in the car, then provided a positive drug specimen and cannabis was found in the vehicle, which was not taxed and had no MOT and a dangerous tyre.
The spokesman said the driver was interviewed and released on police bail after providing a blood specimen for analysis, the child was returned to a responsible adult by officers, and the car was seized under newly-devolved DVLA powers.
