PEOPLE in Pocklington are being given the chance to learn more about a major new homes plan for the town.
Developers Bellway Homes are eyeing a patch of land off Yapham Road to the north western edge of the town - a location already earmarked for new homes in the East Riding Local Plan.
The housebuilder wants to put around 340 new houses on the land, ranging from one to four-bedroomed family houses, with road access from two points on Yapham Road. A quarter of the houses planned will be affordable homes, Bellway say.
Early stage master plans for the site show a "landscape buffer" strip of planting between the new houses and the open countryside to the north.
They also show the outdoor space planned for the development, including a play area and a separate "toddler play" area, and a multi-use games area that could be used for various different sports, located in the centre of the new streets.
Bellway are staging a public exhibition on their plans at All Saints' Church, Pocklington, on Monday, November 30 from3.30pm to 7.30pm.
There will be information on the layout of the development, and typical house styles that could be built. People can also have their say by visiting the development website at www.yaphamroad.co.uk.
