A YORK dance troupe secured a bumper haul of prizes at its biggest competition of the year.

Reflex Dance Troupe, from Clifton, returned home with 58 trophies from the annual disco contest at Butlins, Skegness.

Each of the group's 45 dancers won at least one trophy, with some bringing home up to five.

Reflex achieved two first places, four seconds, and four special awards among its collection.

The three-day competition saw parents and families helping out with costumes, hair and make up.

Dance teacher Emily Walker said: "We practice all year round and attend around nine day competitions throughout the year, but the Skegness competition is by far the biggest and hardest.

"To come away with so many trophies is a massive achievement. I am so proud of all of our dancers."

Reflex, whose members range in range from two to 30, is run by Emily and Julie Walker and has enjoyed its most successful year to date.

Group leader Julie said: "Seeing so many happy faces and proud parents was overwhelming.

"The club are so supportive and it's always nice to see everyone helping each other out - we are like one big dance family."

Reflex will end the year by hosting a presentation night for friends and families as well as a Christmas party.
