JINGLING bells, brightly coloured costumes, clashing sticks, tapping clogs and music from hundreds of morris dancers will all be found on the city's streets during the York Festival of Traditional Dance.
During the weekend of September 12 and 13, the 28th festival will see a procession of artists leave the Guildhall at 10.30am, travel along Davygate, into Church Street, King's Square, St. Sampson's Square, Parliament Street, and St Williams Green.
The day will be brought to a close with a showcase in front of the civic party in St. Sampson’s Square from 3.30pm.
Dancers are coming to York from across the country, including Scunthorpe, Derby and Macclesfield, to show off their moves and make sure all genres are covered, from the brash face-painted border danders to the white dressed Cotswold to the precise Step Clog.
More details and a procession route map are on the Ebor Morris website.
