A CROWD of line dancers helped raise more than £1,800 for charity this month.
The Engine Shed in Wetherby saw dancers and non-dancers gather together to raise money for St Leonards Hospice on August 2.
Phil Collings organised the event in memory of his brother John, who died from cancer at the hospice last year, and music was provided by Phil - under his stage name Dean McCall, seven years on from his last gig.
He said: "The theme for the evening was Red, White and Blue so when the day arrived we spent quite some time decorating the already awesome Engine Shed with flags and bunting. 30 union jack blow up guitars, saxophones and microphones were spread around the venue with the hope that people would have fun using them."
The Sioux Tribe Line Dancers took to the floor for 34 songs, while Phil's partner Sue taught the crowd new dances for each of the tracks, and raffles and collections were held throughout the night, and Sue's employer HSBC also contributed to the £1,800 total.
Phil is already planning another event, on Sunday, January 3.
