A KAYAKER from North Yorkshire has raised almost £2,000 for charity by paddling the English Channel in memory of a friend.
Chris Macdonald is a member of Lower Wharfe Canoe Club, and lost his friend James Webb at the age of 21 in January.
He said: "James was my first house captain at my boarding school and had a massive impact on my life by being a fantastic role model.
"All the money will go to the James Webb fund which will go towards specialist dyslexic support as James was dyslexic. Please donate and share for this amazing charity which is transforming lives worldwide."
Earlier this month, he paddled 21 miles across the Channel in less than 12 hours, to raise money for charity in James' memory.
Chris said: "As a close friend of James I have decided to raise money for Link International. This is a charity partnered with St David's College. I wanted to raise money for dyslexia support to pupils. Also as well as raising money I will be raising awareness about dyslexia and specialist dyslexia support."
