A MOTORCYCLIST has died after suffering serious injuries in a collision which has closed a North Yorkshire road.
Emergency services were called to the crash, between a Triumph motorbike and a white Volkswagen Sirocco, at Scawton, near Sutton Bank, at about 10am today.
The motorcyclist, a man in his sixties from the Harrogate area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours while investigations into the crash took place.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the motorcyclist had been travelling in the company of two other bikers at the time of the collision, and appealed for anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the incident to contact them.
