NESTLED among the wonderful tents, purpose-built venues and the tasty array of food and drink vendors of the inaugural Great Yorkshire Fringe is the Turn Pot, a beautiful late-19th century spiegeltent adorned with stained glass windows, mirrored walls and an impressive big top circus-style ceiling.

It is a fitting place for what is to be a visual feast of a show! The tent is packed with families eagerly awaiting The Amazing Bubble Man, an hour-long show that brings you a whole host of tricks you never thought possible with the humble bubble!

And yes, there really are that many things you can do with a bubble! Or at least Louis Pearl, The Amazing Bubble Man can. He can do anything from smoke-filled bubbles, spinning UFO bubbles and square bubbles, to people in bubbles, mummy and daddy bubbles that have baby bubbles and bubbles filled with helium balanced into some entertaining rabbit ears on a lucky audience member's head. He can do everything in between too, if you can allow your imagination to wonder what they might be.

This show is brilliant for children and their families alike. Not your staple whacky children's performer, Pearl keeps the performance alive and everyone transfixed through his self-taught magical bubble skills.

The audience giggles and cheers as long as there are some bubbles in the air in a show with plenty of crowd participation. Don't miss it if you have young children, and in saying that I had a great time too!

The Amazing Bubble Man was in York at the Great Yorkshire Fringe from July 28 to 30.
