One Man Breaking Bad, The Great Yorkshire Fringe, White Rose Rotunda

THIS show is one spectacular spoiler for virgins of Breaking Bad (aka the "greatest TV show ever made"), seeing as LA actor Miles Allen rips through the five seasons of the hit US show faster than Chris Froome on race day.

And just as Breaking Bad is not the greatest TV show ever made, Allen's 60-minute performance isn't the greatest piece of comedy ever made, although it does give the audience a regular fix of giggles throughout.

Putting the hype aside, what's on offer is an amusing encounter with some of Breaking Bad's leading characters, whom Allen manages to take off with a mixed degree of success.

The biggest laughs break out for his pitch-perfect portrayal of Walt Junior and his devotion to breakfast cereal. The scene around Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball is both genius and wicked at the same time - the show's equivalent of a meth hit.

The three-minute recap of the first three seasons works brilliantly too, leaving Allen gasping for breath and starting to sweat.

It's a given that the audience are fans of the show and hopefully have seen all 62 episodes, so the chronological structure of the hour-long set seems a bit pedestrian.

Allen is a likeable character - a pretty blond, beautiful in that golden Californian way. He's more sunny than sinister, so whether he's jumping around the stage, hood up, shouting "Yo Bitch!" as Jesse Pinkman, or dressed in black hat and glasses as the evil Heisenberg, it's all just a bit ridiculous.

Which, I guess, is all part of the joke.

Like the TV series, One Man Breaking Bad has its ups and downs - and when the going is good, it's not bad at all.

Until Saturday, 6pm, and Sunday at 3pm. Tickets £15
