BESTSELLING true crime author Carol Ann Lee will be at Waterstones in York tomorrow evening to launch her latest book - an investigation into the brutal murder of three generations of his own family by Jeremy Bamber 30 years ago.

Carol, who lives in Wilberfoss, was given unprecedented access to Bamber - who was transferred from Full Sutton prison to Wakefield only a few weeks ago - while writing her book The Murders At White House Farm.

"They... corresponded for three years, often on an almost weekly basis," said a spokesperson for Carol's publisher Macmillan. "But neither he nor his legal team have seen the manuscript and (Carol) has been free to write what she wishes."

Her book also includes interviews with the best friend of Bamber's murdered sister Sheila; with Sheila's psychiatrist; and with detectives who investigated the killing, including the police's senior investigating officer Mike Ainsley, who had never before been interviewed.

At tomorrow's book launch in York she will give an insight in to how she pieced together the story of what really happened at White House Farm that day in 1985.

"I'll be giving a bit of background to how I came to write the book and my research for it, then reading a short excerpt before taking questions," she said.

BLOB Carol Ann Lee, Waterstones, York, 7pm tomorrow (Thursday). Admission free.
