Woman suffers serious injury in York attack
A WOMAN suffered a serious eye injury in an attack in York this weekend.
The 26-year-old local woman was assaulted in Rougier Street between 12.30am and 12.45am in the early hours of Sunday, and was treated at York Hospital over the weekend but will require further surgery to her eye.
Her assailant was a white woman, aged in her twenties, slim, with a blonde, bobbed hairstyle, and was wearing glasses, a black cardigan and a short skirt.
Detectives said Rougier Street was busy at the time of the attack, and urged anyone who witnessed the assault or can help identify the suspect to contact the Serious Crime Team at York.
