Knife-wielding burglar disturbed by residents
A BURGLAR carrying a knife was disturbed by residents at a house in Carlton, near Selby.
North Yorkshire Police said the man was found inside the house by residents at about 4.50am today.
When confronted, he apologised and said he needed some money and left empty-handed. Police said the man did not threaten the victims with the knife, and left it at the scene.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area in the early hours of Monday is urged to contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
