BEER enthusiasts are spoilt for choice in and around York this weekend.

Here are four festivals that are likely to appeal:

FULFORD: THE 2nd Fulford Beer and Music Festival is from 1pm till sunset on Saturday, at the sports pavilion & playing fields off Fulfordgate. The first £500 will go to the Fulford School appeal to fund a community defibrillator, with the remaining proceeds helping improve local sports facilities.

CENTRAL YORK: THE New Ebor Street Feast runs in Parliament Street from 11am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday, then from noon to 6pm on Sunday. There will be beers from numerous Yorkshire and American breweries, as well as varied street food.

MALTON: THE summer beer festival at Suddaby's at The Crown Hotel in Wheelgate, Malton, begins on Thursday and runs until Sunday. There will be at least 26 real ales and four ciders, as well as live music.

WOLDS: THE festival at The Gait Inn at Millington, near Pocklington, begins on Friday and runs until Sunday. There will be at least 30 beers and 10 ciders, a barbecue all weekend, and live music.
