ARTISTIC students have been given a taste of the success which could await them in their careers - after their creations were put on display at school.

GCSE and A-Level art pupils at All Saints RC School, in Mill Mount, transformed their art department into three galleries for the Talent 2015 exhibition.

Parents, pupils, buyers and school governors all turned up to see the mix of paintings and photography spread across three rooms.

Students were supported by Homebase in York, which supplied paint so they could whitewash the rooms and Colour Options, in Elvington, which printed and framed the artwork.

Phil Norton, head of art at All Saints, said: "The quality of the work is becoming much better and I think when the students know it's being exhibited they get excited and know how big their work is going to be.

"A lot of the students are now heading for university to study either photography or art and this is a great chance to get their work seen."
