DETECTIVES investigating the armed robbery of a York bookmakers have arrested two men.

The men entered Embassy Racing in North Moor Road, Huntington, at 7.55pm on Wednesday, June 3, carrying a screwdriver and what appeared to be a dumbbell handle.

These CCTV images of the suspects were released last week, along with a fresh appeal for information from North Yorkshire Police.

A spokesman said a 30-year-old man was arrested in Walmgate this morning, and a 28-year-old man was arrested this afternoon at another location in the city, and the arrests were a result of police enquiries and information received from the public.

Both men currently remain in police custody.
