AN elderly man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after an accident involving a tractor.
The 67-year-old was thought to be on a coast to coast tractor ride when his tractor rolled down an embankment on the bridleway through Cow House Bank Farm, near Helmsley at about 1.45pm yesterday.
North Yorkshire Police were called to the scene by the ambulance service and the man was airlifted to James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough with a broken pelvis and broken ribs.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "Police were alerted by the ambulance service at around 1.45pm on Thursday 25 June 2015, after a tractor rolled down an embankment on the bridleway through Cow House Bank Farm.
"The driver of the tractor, a 67-year-old man, was thrown from the vehicle. He sustained a broken pelvis in the incident and was airlifted to James Cook Hospital for treatment."
