A SUCCESSFUL York theatre is looking for a person with a head for figures willing to be its finance director for no pay.

Joseph Rowntree Theatre, a charity entirely run by volunteers, is looking for someone to take over from Geoff Wragg, who steps down from the job in September.

Board chairman Dan Shrimpton said: “We are very proud to be a theatre that operates with complete financial independence – we don’t receive local authority or Arts Council funding.

“With a new finance director on board, we’ll be able to continue the Rowntree family legacy of providing a high quality venue for local people.

“We’re looking for someone with a finance or accounting background to make sure that we continue to operate successfully.”

In addition to managing budgets and keeping the charity’s financial records in order, the new finance director will be a duty manager, helping to ensure performances run without problems. Details are available from the chairman on 07511 123659.
