THIS car crashed on the A64 near York early today as a result of the driver's inexperience and speed, police said.

The picture was tweeted by a North Yorkshire Police officer following the single vehicle accident, which happened on the slip road leading to the A1237 outer ring road at just after 3am. The vehicle's two occupants were uninjured.

Meanwhile, a car has been seized after a police officer witnessed it running out of control at a roundabout in Scarborough yesterday.

An officer tweeted that the driver had been reported for careless driving and the vehicle was seized because it was the second instance of poor driving in 12 months.
