A SCHOOLGIRL suffered spinal injuries in a car crash this afternoon which saw three people taken to hospital.
Firefighters were called to help free the nine-year-old from the back seat of an Audi Q7 at 2pm today after a collison between the car and a van on the A59 at Upper Poppleton.
The girl's parents, who are aged in their 40s, were able to get out of the Audi before the fire service arrived, but the mother of the girl was also taken to hospital along with her daughter, believed to be suffering from spinal injuries.
The van driver, aged in his 50s, was also taken to hospital with rib injuries.
