A VIOLENT assault on a Harrogate street early this morning has left a man in hospital with a serious head injury.
A 29-year-old man from Ripon is in York Hospital after the attack near the junction of Union Street and Kings Road, Harrogate, at around 4.15am.
The police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
Detectives particularly want to talk to anyone who witnessed the assault or was in Bambinos takeaway around that time.
Two men aged 39 and 40 were arrested in connection with the assault. They remain in police custody for questioning.
