A 69-YEAR-OLD man was trapped under a one tonne water tank after an accident in Ripon this morning.
Firefighters were called to help the man when he became trapped just after 9.30am, on Littlethorpe Lane.
A crew from Ripon went along with a specialist officer and a heavy rescue unit, and a fire service spokesman said the man was trapped between a mesh fence and a water tank after it slipped off a trailer.
They had to pierce the plastic tank and drain the water away before they could lift the tank off and free the victim, who was then taken to hospital by a road ambulance with leg injuries.
