A YOUNG child has been taken to York Hospital after a crash on the A64.
Police, ambulances and firefighters were all called at around 4.30pm to the collision on the A64 near Copmanthorpe and the A1237 junction.
Three vehicles were involved but a spokesman for the ambulance service said no one had been seriously hurt.
Although several people were checked over at the scene only one, a young child, was taken to hospital for precautionary checks, they added.
A fire service spokesman confirmed that a crew from York was sent to the scene. No one was trapped, but firefighters helped make the vehicles safe.
Drivers are still being warned of long queues westbound on the A64.
