A YORK woman has admitted unlawful wounding after an assault in the city.

Amy Ellen McDonagh, 29, pleaded guilty to the charge at York Crown Court yesterday. The court heard that McDonagh, of no fixed abode, assaulted Jason Coleman with a metal item in St Saviourgate on October 25 last year. She is due to be sentenced on May 11 after probation reports have been written.

Ordering that McDonagh stay remanded in custody, Judge Robert Bartfield said: “It is a serious matter.”
