TIGER WOODS overcome an error-ridden final round to claim the 77th win of his professional career in Miami.

In his final competitive outing before the US Masters, Woods, four ahead overnight, had a 73 for 278 to clinch victory by two shots from Brett Wetterich (71) in the CA World Championship for the third successive year and sixth time in eight attempts.

Colin Montgomerie closed with a 75 for 296.

Scotland's Catriona Matthew, in her first tournament since having baby Katie in December, closed with a 69 and finished in joint fifth place at the Safeway International in phoenix, Arizona.

Mexico's Lorena Ochoa claimed her 10th career title with a final round 68 for 270. Janice Moodie fired 74 for three over.
