AIDEN McGEADY took the SPL Championship trophy to Glasgow Green this week as the Bank of Scotland launched a new campaign to encourage high school kids to stay involved in football.

There is a huge drop-out between kids playing at primary but then falling away from the game in secondary school. The new Bank of Scotland Soccer One hopes to bridge that gap by offering every first year pupil in Glasgow the chance of weekly games and two hours of coaching.

Said McGeady: "This is a fantastic initiative. Giving schoolchildren the chance to play regularly and receive expert coaching from skilled coaches is a great idea.

"From the smiles on the kids' faces it is clear to see everyone involved is thoroughly enjoying their Soccer One experience."
