Taking a bite out of show’s chocolate billboard

York Press:
Emma Falcao-MacFadyen and Michael Mortimer, of York Dungeon, consume vast amounts of chocolate marking the start of their Easter events.

A GIANT billboard made entirely of chocolate marked the launch of a new seasonal Death By Chocolate pop-up show at York Dungeon.

The board measured 6ft by 7ft and was made up of 26kg of chocolate, containing 140,000 calories, provided by Thorntons Chocolate to promote the show, which will be seen by visitors over the Easter period.

Helen Douglas, general manager, said: “People couldn’t believe their eyes when they spotted the billboard and couldn’t believe their luck when they were invited to get stuck in for free. It was a great success and we hope to see lots more visitors heading down to get involved with the scary fun at our Death By Chocolate show.”

New Dungeon characters Billy Humbug and Mary Ann Cotton, based upon one of the most notorious sweet poisoners in history who was believed to have murdered up to 21 people, were outside the attraction yesterday trying to entice people with their chocolate treats.
