AN UNDERGROUND cable fault has been blamed for a power cut which hit more than 900 York properties today.
Northern Powergrid said the blackout happened at 6.30am in the Blossom Street, Micklegate and Mount area of the city.
A spokeswoman said engineers were sent to restore supplies, and 616 customers got their power back by 8.15am, another 178 by 8.30am and the remaining customers by 8.38am.
She said the company apologised for inconvenience caused by the fault, which was under investigation.
