THREE men have been arrested over the theft of an ATM in East Yorkshire.
Humberside Police said a JCB had been used to smash the ATM and remove it from the wall of the HSBC in South Cave, Brough, south of Market Weighton, in events similar to the theft in Haxby last month.
The cash machine was stolen at just before 3am today, and transported away from the scene in two black vehicles which were believed to have travelled towards the A63.
Three men - aged 23, 26 and 27 - were arrested in Rawcliffe Road, Airmyn, near Goole, after they were seen by officers leaving a silver coloured vehicle at about 3.40am, and remain in police custody.
A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "Police are aware of other similar incidents in the Yorkshire region and are trying to establish whether there are any links to this incident.
"The public are urged to remain vigilant in areas where there are ATM’s and report any suspicious behaviour to the police on 101, especially in rural locations."

No arrests were made following the theft of an ATM from the wall of the Co-Op store in Ryedale Court, Haxby, on January 22.
