A MAN was left with serious injuries after a road accident in Selby late last night.

The man, who had been on foot, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with what police are calling "serious but non-life-threatening injuries".

The crash happened at around 11.15pm near the Jet Garage on Bawtry Road when a silver Audi A3 collided with the victim - who is in his 30s and from the Selby area.

The driver, a man in his 20s from Goole, was unhurt.

The road was closed until 12.40am today.

Police want anyone who saw the collision or the car involved before the crash to get in touch.
