A NORTH Yorkshire man has been jailed for four years for sexual offences against a teenage girl.

Gareth Hudson, 36, of Stepney Road, Scarborough, targeted the 14-year-old over the internet, and encouraged her to send him indecent images of herself.

He also contacted her on Skype, performed a sexual act, and asked her to engage in sexual activity, North Yorkshire Police said.

Hudson appeared at York Crown Court on Friday, where he pleaded guilty to two courts of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Sygrove, of Scarborough CID, said: "Hudson harassed his victim for his own sexual gratification. He now has a number of years in prison to reflect on his disgusting behaviour."
