UPDATED 9.40am: North Yorkshire Police have now confirmed the road has been reopened in both directions and the damaged vehicles have been removed.
THREE people have been injured in a crash on a North Yorkshire Road.
North Yorkshire Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on the A170 between Helmsley and Sutton Bank at about 7.50am.
A spokeswoman said three people had suffered what were believed to be minor injuries in the crash, and would be taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road is currently blocked while police await recovery of the damaged vehicles, and motorists are advised to expect heavy delays and avoid the area if possible.
