The Yorkshire Museum : Special Exhibition-Fingerprints of Time-discover the age of everything!
Saturday 10th February-Monday 31 st December, 10am-5pm daily (closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day). A brand new interactive exhibition investigating-the-age of everything. From the 4.5 billion year old Middlesbrough Meteorite to today’s newspaper, Fingerprints of Time will give visitors the chance to crack the dating code and find out how we know when the Vikings were in York . Viking Journeys: Community banners and stories
Local community groups will be working with poet Adrian Spendlow to compose their own stories of contemporary journeys inspired by the sagas of our Viking ancestors. Led by a visual artist, the groups will paint banners to illustrate the stories, and, as in previous Viking Festivals, these will decorate the big marquee in St Sampson’s Square during the festival. There will be public workshops on February 16 to create more stories and banners. An Arts Action York Community Project.
