A WOMAN has been rescued from a river in York after falling in while trying to help a dog.
The woman in her fifties was waist deep in the Ouse near Landing Lane when fire crews were called to assist her with the rescue boat at 11.20am on Sunday.
It is understood she fell in while trying to rescue a dog.
She was checked over by paramedics and had not suffered any injuries.
North Yorkshire Fire Service had no record of what happened to the dog.
