THE motorist who collided with traffic lights in York on Tuesday has died, police have said.
The 70-year-old man was driving a Ford Mondeo which crashed into traffic lights in Foss Islands Road, near Morrisons supermarket, at about 11.55am on Tuesday.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man was thought to have suffered a heart attack at the wheel, and confirmed yesterday the man had died shortly after arriving at York Hospital.
The spokesman said the driver was from Suffolk.
