TRAFFIC on one of the main routes into York has slowed and heavy queues are in place after a two car crash this morning.
The incident happened on the A1079 Hull Road, at the junction with Common Lane, at about 8.35am.
One local worker said: "It was right on the juction of Common Lane, opposite the petrol station. A third car has stopped as a possible witness. Police are directing traffic and the recover truck is taking the cars away."
Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle and are still at the scene, but a spokeswoman said it was unclear whether anyone would be taken to hospital.
