FOUR men have been arrested in York and drugs have been seized in a day of police action under Operation Hawk.
The operation was set up to tackle travelling criminals and disrupt their activity – and Wednesday saw 24 people and four vehicles searched; 29 vehicles stopped; as well as one car and one suspected stolen bicycle, 200 tablets believed to be ecstasy, plus cannabis, being seized.
Local neighbourhood officers, the Road Crime Team, Road Policing Group, the Cycle Team and a Neighbourhood Support Team were all involved in the day of action around the city.
Members of the public are encouraged to support Operation Hawk by reporting suspicious behaviour to North Yorkshire Police on 101 or if an emergency response is required, dial 999.
