A WOMAN was dragged to the ground and robbed as she walked home through a Northallerton park, police have revealed.

The incident happened in the town’s Bullamoor Park at about 9.15pm last Sunday, October 19.

A 39-year-old local woman was walking home from work when she was pulled to the ground by two youths who grabbed her bag and ran off towards Oak Grove.

The victim suffered a black eye in the incident and was treated by paramedics.

Officers have been making extensive enquiries in the area and have arrested a 15-year-old youth in connection with the incident. He has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

However police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them with information.
