YOUNGSTERS at a York primary school have been earning praise for good behaviour in their local community.
New Earswick Primary School organised a community ‘praise postcard’ design competition, with the aim of placing the cards in local shops to reward children who behaved well while out and about in the village in their free time.
The winning designs were created by Katy Iveson, Adam Copley and Jake Barbour, and include ‘tick’ boxes to praise good manners, holding doors open, queuing patiently and being helpful.
Head teacher, Carole Dickson, said the cards have now been printed and local shops Londis, Premier and Banners have agreed to stock and issue the cards, which can be brought back to school to gain team points.
