A TEENAGER has died in a car crash on the North York Moors.

The 18-year-old man was a passenger in a blue Peugeot 307, which left the road as it travelled along Blakey Bank, near Farndale, at about 5.20pm on Saturday.

A spokewoman for North Yorkshire Police said the car hit a dry stone wall and came to rest on its side. He said the occupants of the vehicle - which also included the 22-year-old driver, a 16-year-old boy and two other 18-year-old men - were all from the Middlesbrough area.

The man killed was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and other passengers were taken to James Cook Hospital.

The spokeswoman said the 16-year-old boy had a suspected broken collarbone, but the others were not thought to be seriously injured.

Anyone who saw the crash or the car prior to the incident should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 or email mcit@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
