A MAN told his former partner he would smash her teeth down her throat and stab her mother during Christmas dinner, a court heard.

Neil Christopher Hirst was jailed for two months after pleading guilty to three charges of breaching a non-molestation order, which was imposed on March 17 by York County Court which forbid him from threatening or harassing his former partner for two years.

Paul Abraham, prosecuting at York Crown Court, said Hirst had already attacked her four times and broken the order three times when he went to her home on August 17.

He told her: "I will come through that door at 2am and smash your teeth down your throat".

On August 29, he made two phone calls to her in which he made more threats against her and in which he talked about stabbing her mother in the head at Christmas dinner "while the cranberry sauce is being passed around".

Judge Jim Spencer QC told Hirst: "You have got to learn while this non-molestation order continues, it means what it says."

He jailed Hirst for two months. "It is your last chance," he said.

The judge said Hirst had a history of crime before he met his partner but stayed out of trouble while their relationship lasted. After it broke down, his criminal record started to grow again as he committed offences against her.

Hirst, 52, of Mill Lane, Brayton, Selby, pleaded guilty to three charges of breaching a non-molestation order.

The court heard he had 31 previous convictions, including two for assaulting his former partner in October 2013, two for assaulting her in November 2013 and three for breaching the non-molestation order on March 17, the day the order was made, March 25 and March 26.

Jonathan Boumphrey, for Hirst, said he was "very sorry" for his latest crimes. He has been in custody since he was arrested after the threat against her mother.

Hirst told the court: "It feels like four months."
