THE York Philharmonic Choir was invited to the city's historic Guildhall to thank members for supporting the Lord Mayor and Sheriff’s Christmas Cheer Fund through a charity concert.
The concert will take place on Saturday at the Guildhall, with a variety of music to suit all tastes, from jazz to light opera and music from popular shows. The choir will be joined by Michael Phillips, who will perform a solo on the flute.
The Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Ian Gillies thanked the choir for supporting the Cheer fund, which provides a festive party for 400 elderly York residents.
"I am also looking forward to seeing their performance on Saturday and hope many attend in aid of a great cause," he said.
Tickets costing £9 are available from the Visit York on Blake Street or via the civic office on 01904 551011.
